
Laboratory of analysis and control of plant-based foods
The diversity of foods of plant origin existing in Colombia has increased the demands of both consumers and national legislation, in compliance with quality standards for these products.
In addition, research on the characterization, composition and functionality of plant products has increased, as part of the industry's interest in developing new products with not only nutritional properties but also with additional beneficial effects on human health.
In response to the needs in research and analysis of plant-based foods and their derivatives, ICTA has been concerned with implementing specific methodologies and training integral personnel for the development of physicochemical, instrumental, microbiological and sensory tests.
